Come along for the rideIf there's one thing you should do when you buy a car (new or used) it is take it for a road test. Not just a lap around the car dealer's block, but a good open road test.
Over the past few years we've been driving every make and model we can get our hands on, and we comprehensively test the cars (usually over a week or more) to ensure we get a feel for what their strengths and weaknesses are, as well as how they perform in everyday situations, like picking up the kids from soccer practice or doing the grocery shopping.
You need to see how the car accelerates, brakes, handles, get a feel for its grip levels. If it is a used car you need to ensure that at highway speeds it does not shake or shudder, you need to check that the transmission is smooth through the gears and interior is in good condition.
We hope you enjoy taking a ride as much as we do.
